Eastern Carribbean Cruise















CRUISE – Eastern Caribbean
November 24 – December 1, 2007

Friday/Saturday – November 23/24
Left Easley and traveled to Florida on motorcoach overnight.

Saturday – November 24
We stopped in Columbia and picked up 12 people. We stopped for breakfast just outside Jacksonville, FL. We arrived at the terminal at 12:00 noon and checked in and boarded the ship – Carnival Ship Glory. Departed Port Canaveral at 4:00 PM. The first three days were rocky on the ship.

Sunday – November 25
Arrive at Nassau at 8:30 AM and depart at 2:00 PM. We took a shore excursion with van ride around the island to see the sights then ended at Pirates Museum and walked back to the ship. Had a great supper – my table mates are wonderful and funny. Tonight was a formal night.

Monday – November 26
Had all day at sea. Different activities on board - good shows and comedians.

Tuesday – November 27
Arrive at St. Thomas at 10:00 AM and depart at 8:00 PM. We took another shore excursion and took a boat to St. Johns and took tour of whole island. Another good night on board

Wednesday – November 28
Arrive at St. Maarten at 8:00 AM and depart at 6:00 PM. We took a shore excursion and saw both the Dutch side where we docked and the French side.

Thursday – November 29
Had all day at Sea. We had another formal night.

Friday – November 30
Had all day at sea.

Saturday – December 1
Arrive back at Port Canaveral at 7:00 AM We departed ship and went through customs around 9:00 AM. Loaded the coach and headed to Easley, SC We stopped on the way for lunch in FL near GA border on I-95 for lunch at McDonalds. Went to Columbia to drop people off and then ate at a Lizards Thicket in Lexington. I got home around 12:45 AM and went to my bed. Felt good to be home. The trip was wonderful.

Atlanta, GA - March 13-15, 2007  (Tuesday – Thursday) (GNT) Fernbank Museum and saw IMAX – Hurricane on the Bayou, Hard Rock Café, MLK area, CNN, World of Coke,
Underground Atlanta, Mall of Georgia, Stone Mountain. 

Washington, DC - April 2-5, 2007  (Monday - Thursday) (GNT) Mount Vernon, and all DC attractions.

Atlanta/Warm Springs, GA - April 13-14, 2007 (Friday - Saturday) (Joy Club) lunch at the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle, GA, Calloway Gardens, Little White House in
Warm Springs and ate a late lunch at the Victorian Tea Room.   

Huntsville, AL - May 2-4, 2007  (Wednesday – Friday)  (GNT) Space Camp, Dreamland BBQ

Georgia Coast Ecological Tour (Brunswick, St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island)
May 8-10, 2007  (Tuesday – Thursday) (GNT)  Ft. King George, Hofwyl Broadfield Plantation, Ghost Walk at the lighthouse on St. Simons, Ft. Frederica, the Lighthouse and the Coast Guard Museum, Tidelands Nature Center, Old Fort Jackson in Savannah.

Saturday – December 1 Arrive back at Port Canaveral at 7:00 AM  We departed ship and went through customs around 9:00 AM  Loaded the coach and headed to Easley, SC   We smelled a burning smell and bus pulled off at rest area neat Newberry – Cross Country has to send another coach to get us. We hit the road and got back to GNT.  I got home around 12:45 AM.

Chattanooga, TN - May 9-10, 2006   (Tuesday-Wednesday) (GNT) Chickamauga Battlefield, TN Aquarium and IMAX,  Riverboat, Rock City, Chattanooga Zoo

Charleston, SC - May 15-16, 2006 (Monday – Tuesday) (Joy Club)  Carriage ride all downtown attractions. Angel Oak, We went and saw Hunley crews’ graves at Magnolia Cemetery.

Myrtle Beach, SC - May 18-19, 2006   (Thursday - Friday) (GNT) eco-tour at Captain Dick’s Marina, (IT WAS HARLEY BIKE WEEK AND THERE WERE THOUSANDS OF BIKERS THERE!) Medieval Times, Ripley’s Aquarium, Hard Rock Café, IMAX to see Lewis and Clark.

Washington, DC - May 21-23, 2006   (Sunday - Tuesday) (GNT)  All the major DC attractions.

Washington, DC/Williamsburg - June 19-23, 2006   (Monday-Friday) (GNT)
White House – they had a tour, Arlington Women’s Military center, American Legion Hall for a function Cong. Gresham Barrett was having.  Had beach music band and food (grits and shrimp, catfish nuggets, BBQ, banana pudding and sweet tea),  Mount Vernon, Ate dinner at the Kings Arm Tavern at Williamsburg (peanut soup, half roasted chicken, ham, dressing, green beans, carrots, bread, and ice cream with strawberries or pecan pie) Great food. We walked up for the ghost tour. Friday we left at 8:30 and they had a tour at Jamestown center.

Atlanta, GA - Brian and Laura’s Wedding - August 4-6, 2006   (Friday - Sunday)
The rehearsal party at Mosaic  (a small restaurant – we had a sit down meal.)  Wedding at 2:00 on Saturday at Christ Cathedral Catholic Church.  Reception at ____. They had all kinds of stuff and an open bar outside to start with.  At 5:00 we moved up stairs – wedding party was introduced and then there were the dances – Laura and her dad and Brian and Carol – sweet.  Then they brought salads out and then we went through a buffet line – great food.  There were toasts then dancing.  In the lobby they had cameras to take pics for a scrapbook and had all kinds of cancer bracelets for people to get.   

Pigeon Forge, TN - September 15-16, 2006    (Friday – Saturday) (GNT) Dollywood - Dolly Parton was in the park today – it was the beginning of the BBQ & Bluegrass Festival, Dixie Stamped, (it was a Rod week up there – hot rods – traffic was bad.  Worse than Myrtle Beach during a bike week), Ripley Aquarium in Gatlinburg.  We then went to Applewood Restaurant at the Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge.  We then went to the Governor’s Palace Theater to see Fixin 2 Rain – Noah and the art set in the Smoky Mountains – it was pretty good.

Atlanta, GA - October 19-20, 2006  (Thursday – Friday) (GNT) Martin Luther King National Historic Park, CNN -  behind the scenes tour, GA Aquarium, Hard Rock Café,
World of Coke.
