Here are a few pictures to bring back memories.
Welcome signs - we had made it there when we saw one of these!
We stayed less than a block from here when I was a kid.
My oldest nephew could not wait until he could ride the bupper cars by himself. Every year the first thing he would do when we went to the Pavillion area would be to run and check and see if he was tall enough to ride by himself. You should have seen him the year he was tall enough. He was so excited!

The following are of an old German Organ that played music in the middle
of the rides area. Some of the angels moved. It was is an interesting
musical instrument. It is now at Broadway at the Beach.
When
I was six years old I paid 50 cents to go behind/inside the instrument
to see how it worked. It was like a player piano. The music rolls were
changed every day. A roll would play for 45 mins then repeat.
The Pavillion is gone now.
This was across the street from the Beverly. It was on the beach. The brick part was very nice. It was on list of historic places and last year (2012) they demolished it all and put in junk.
This was a very grand hotel in the early days. I was lucky enough to see it when I was a kid. It is no longer there.
Mom and Dad knew Mr and Mrs Beverly. We stayed here most of the time. We had an efficiency apt. in the addition you see behind the "house". (We had to take our water down with us to drink and cook with since the beach water tasted so bad in those days. LOL) It was less than a block from the Pavillion. We would sit on the front porch in rocking chairs and watch the people cruise up and down Ocean Blvd. Last week (March 2013) when we were at the beach we rode by and they were demolishing it. It was just a pile of rubble.
If they do not have it - no one does!
Springmade - where we stayed March 2013.
